Envirotest contracted by the State of Indiana for Vehicle Emissions Testing program

The State of Indiana has signed a contract with Opus Inspection’s subsidiary, Envirotest Corp., to provide Vehicle Emissions Testing services for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM).

Under the new contact with IDEM, Envirotest will:

• Operate and maintain the Clean Air Car Check Program (CACC) in Indiana’s Lake and Porter counties, capable of testing up to two hundred and twenty thousand (220,000) gasoline-powered vehicles annually.
• Conduct vehicle emission testing at the existing, company owned, seven (7) centralized testing stations with a minimum of twenty-two (22) testing lanes.

“We are very pleased that IDEM is continuing the successful relationship we have enjoyed since 1997,” said Jim Sands, President of Opus Inspection.  “Our primary mission in Indiana is to continue to assist the State in fulfilling its objectives to improve air quality through an efficient, effective, and convenient vehicle inspection program that is user friendly to all motorists in Lake and Porter Counties.”

The contract term is four (4) years, through December 31, 2018, with an option for the State to extend the contract up to four (4) additional years.  The value of the base contract is $21,170,400.
