Chile: staying in operation, staying safe

In Chile, where Opus is operating vehicle inspections during the pandemic, we follow strict measures to ensure the safety of our customers and employees.

Vehicle inspection – like most activity – has seen a dramatic reduction in test volume as COVID-19 spreads across the globe. But in Chile, as in Sweden, all our stations are open, testing significant volumes of vehicles every day. So, what are we doing to protect our customers and employees in these unprecedented times?

Alfredo R Granai, President of Vehicle Inspection Latin America said, ‘Safety is our highest priority. We have introduced new measures and procedures to protect customers and employees at all times.’

Inspectors are keeping at least 1.5 metres from customers. Seat and steering wheel covers are used to protect customers’ vehicles; and after the inspection, customers are asked to open their vehicle doors for several minutes before they get back in. All floors and contact surfaces in our stations are disinfected at least daily, while employees use protective face masks, hand sanitizer gel and soap.

Alfredo commented, ‘In these unusual times, vehicle inspection, where it is available still offers a vital service to society. I am very grateful to Opus inspectors and other staff for everything they are doing to support our customers.’
