Ohio E-Check

Centralized emission testing through 23 Envirotest stations, selected partner repair shops, 16 self-service kiosks open 24/7, and Clean Screen remote sensing tests.

Envirotest, an Opus company, provides the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with a centralized vehicle emission testing program, including 23 inspection stations with 75 test lanes in the Cleveland and Akron areas. Tests include OBDII, gas cap pressurization, opacity (diesel), and visual tampering checks.

Services include data management, project management, operations support, requirement definition, business analysis, testing, and development support. Ohio’s E-Check Program tests more than 850,000 vehicles annually.

The program also includes Clean Screen testing, which uses remote sensing technology to measure emissions at the roadside as vehicles drive by. Vehicles identified as clean can get an exemption from their next scheduled emission test, saving vehicle owners time and money.
