Opus partners with government agencies in offering drive-thru coronavirus testing

Opus inspection stations in Tennessee and Maryland are now serving as drive-thru COVID-19 test sites.

Opus has assisted local governments in Maryland and Tennessee in converting several emission testing stations into COVID-19 testing sites. Because the inspection stations are already designed for vehicles to drive through, they have been easy to adapt to support COVID-19 testing.

Patients need appointments made by their healthcare provider to be able to use the facilities and the tests take place exclusively in patients’ vehicles to comply with social distancing measures.

While Opus provides facility support and traffic management, it is the local health department who administers the test. At all times, Opus employees are shielded and not in direct contact with any patients that are in line to be administered a COVID-19 test.

Andrew McIntosh, Opus President Vehicle Inspection U.S. said, ‘In a time of global emergency, we are doing everything we can to support public authorities wherever we operate. I’d like to thank our employees for their fantastic support.’

We’re pleased to be able to support the local governments and the public in Maryland and Tennessee, where several of our stations are now operating as drive-thru testing sites for COVID-19.
